
This research project is taking place since September 2019, where he is researching the origin of the Latvian National Ballet within Latvia’s complex historical-cultural context in the early 20th century, when Riga established itself as a crossroads of cultures. Its roots lie on the Russian imperialism from the Mariinski Ballet in Saint Petersburg, on the European avant-garde from Paris, driven by Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, and on the rise of the Latvian Awakening. All this led to the following production:
